But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.
– 2 Timothy 3:14-15
About.
We believe in the priesthood of all the saints, which means that every Christian is called to the work of ministry, to build up the church, and to come together in unity in that work. The ultimate goal of it all is to bring God glory and help others to see the beauty of Christ. Part of that is to be equipped to think well about who God is, what He has done, and how He continues to work in the world He has created.
This is the motivation behind The Timothy Lectures.
Approach.
We will take a colloquium approach – gathering several times per year to hear from highly qualified theologians and practitioners, people who will speak into their field of expertise in the topics we address. In the upcoming year, we will hold Lectures in December, May, and August – with three weeks for each. Each week will focus on a different topic.
Each Lecture will be open as its own event. Registration is free of charge with a suggested donation to help us offset the costs to host the speakers.
GATEWAY.
As part of The Timothy Lectures, we have partnered with the GATEWAY Theological Institute so that those who would like to take a more rigorous approach will be able to complete the certificate program along the way. The certificate track will include a set cost that provides materials, and will also carry the expectation of papers written, corrected, and resubmitted along the way.
