Lecture 06 | The History of Sin
In this lecture, Dr. Greg Strand will explore the Fall, including the importance of Adam and Eve, the role of Satan, and the implications of the Fall on human nature. What does it mean that human beings are sinners by nature and by choice? How do we see the affects of human sin in the world around us now, and in our own lives? What hope do we have as ones who are alienated from God and under His wrath?

Lecture 05 | The Imago Dei
Human beings bear the Imago Dei, the image and likeness of God. This Christian belief has impacted human history and has vast implications. If it is true, then how do we see so much evidence around us that humans fall far short of this lofty assertion? Dr. Greg Strand will explore the source of human dignity in the image and likeness of God. He will first establish the meaning of the Imago Dei, and an understanding of what it means for human beings to “mirror” God. The session will then turn to the implications of the Imago Dei in life and relationships.

Lecture 04 | Why Does It Matter? Understanding Infallibility, Inspiration, and Inerrancy
Pastor Bill Kynes will establish the authority of Scripture in the church and in the lives of Christians in this third lecture. The terms inerrancy, infallibility, and inspiration can become confusing and are often confused. He will draw distinctions between these three terms and show that all are essential in our understanding of the authority and sufficiency of Scripture. That the Bible is inspired – true, complete, and authoritative as God’s very Word. That the Bible is inerrant – without error in the original writings. And that the Bible is infallible – able to accomplish what it sets out to accomplish.

Lecture 03 | How did we get this Bible?
In this lecture, Pastor Bill Kynes will focus the content and development of the canon of Scripture. Questions like: Who are the authors of the Bible? When were the books written? What are the sections and genre of Scripture? How was the canon of Scripture approved and was it decided to keep some other writings out of it? A particular focus on the challenge of the Gnostic Gospels and understanding of church councils and history in the establishment of the canon will be valuable in this session.

Lecture 02 | Understanding the Trinity: God is Three in One
In the second lecture, Pastor Bill Riedel will work to bring clarity to understanding the reality and importance of God’s triunity. It will explore the history of trinitarian heresy and show the necessity of triunity to understand the gospel. This session will also explore recent debates on the essence and economy of the persons of the Trinity.

Lecture 01 | Knowing God: The Character and Attributes of God
Pastor Bill Riedel will explore the character and attributes of God, establishing that God is the Almighty, Creator of all things, and that He has revealed Himself to us through general and special revelation. This session will explore the communicable and incommunicable attributes of God and, ultimately, show that the gospel expresses God’s character uniquely and fully.
